Two Mid-Prairie groups earn all-state honors

WELLMAN - Two groups from the Mid-Prairie Large Group Speech Team earned all-state recognition, as announced by the Iowa High School Speech Association on Wednesday.

The state large group contest was held at Mid-Prairie High School on Feb. 6. Three IHSSA certified judges were present to critique and rate each performance.

Two of the three judges need to nominate a group in order for them to be considered for all-state. Groups nominated for all-state are considered outstanding.

Due to COVID-19, there will not be an All-State Festival this year.

The two groups are:

' Group Improv Transcondimentals: Terra Richardson, Magnolia Graber, Emily Marner,

' Ensemble Acting, Art of Manipulation by Kyra Helmuth: Magnolia Graber, Alexander Burnham, Kyra Helmuth, Christopher Burnham

Speech coaches at Mid-Prairie are Christine Meader and Lisa Helmuth.
