Henry County Sheriff deputies investigated three accidents in the last week, two of which were rollovers.
The sheriff?s office received a report on Jan. 3, of a single-vehicle, rollover accident near the intersection of 200th Street and White Oak Road.
According to the report, Drake Christe, of New London, was traveling northbound in a 2004 Dodge Ram, when he lost control on the icy road surface and entered the ditch. The truck rolled over. Damage to the truck was estimated at $5,000 and no injuries were reported.
Another rollover accident was investigated on Jan. 1, near mile marker 44 on U.S. Highway 218. Mohammed Ali Syed, 24, of Minnesota, was traveling northbound in his 2014 Toyota Camry along with four other passengers.
Syed, according to the sheriff office?s report, fell asleep at the wheel and lost control. The vehicle entered the ditch and rolled over before coming to rest in the ditch. Henry County Health Center Ambulance transported all five occupants of the vehicle to the health center with non-life threatening injuries.
The third accident occurred on Dec. 31, near the intersection of U.S. Highway 34 and Dakota Avenue. An investigation revealed that Kim Anderson, 43, of Mt. Pleasant, along with three passengers, were traveling westbound in Anderson?s 2011 Nissan Altima when the vehicle struck a deer.
Only minor injuries were reported. Damage to the car was estimated at $5,000, and Anderson was cited for operation without registration.
