Sabrina Pidgeon and Max Mercer were appointed as the new Henry County Conservation Board members on Thursday, Jan. 28, at the Henry County Board of Supervisors meeting. Michelle Gardner and Tim Batey, the previous board members, both resigned earlier in January. It was decided by the supervisors that Pidgeon will fulfill Gardner's term and Mercer will fulfill Batey's term.
'I'm excited to help further Henry County conservation efforts, especially in regards to public parks, fishing, and hunting,” Mercer said. 'I really would like to focus on helping kids in their pursuit of nature and conservation. With COVID, parks and recreation is one of the safe ways kids can be out learning without the risks”
'I haven't been on this side of the board before,” Pidgeon said. 'The first year or so will be learning the ropes and understanding the areas, for sure, but I do want to focus on involvement.”
