Two teens face marijuana charge

MT. PLEASANT - Two Mt. Pleasant teenagers were charged with possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop early Saturday morning.
Naudia Beachy and Hannah Newman, both 18, received simple misdemeanor charges after being found with marijuana, a first offense for both, according to the Henry County Sheriff's Office.
Beachy, who was driving, was pulled over outside of city limits on Franklin Ave. for speeding at approximately 12:58 a.m. During the stop, both teens were found to be in possession of the controlled substance. Beachy received a written warning for speeding.
The Iowa State Patrol assisted with the traffic stop.
