Staci tells it like this: Tyler and Staci were both nine-year members of Washington County 4-H and even both showed pigs as one of their livestock projects, but it wasn't until Tyler's junior year and Staci's senior year of high school when they joined the County Council that they met and soon after fell in love.
They were assigned to go to some of the 4-H clubs and do a short presentation about upcoming events.
Tyler volunteered to come with Staci to her club. This is when they really started to get to know each other, and it was a 4-H skating party that Tyler (encouraged by his sister Natalie) made his move and asked Staci to skate with him under the disco ball.
After this, they started to talk by phone, and Tyler sent Valentine's Day flowers to Staci at school.
Luckily for them, the many 4-H events that they attended together through County Council gave them many opportunities to see each other.
Finally, after a 4-H volleyball tournament held in Wellman, Tyler asked Staci to be his girlfriend, and they started dating. And as they say, 'The rest is history.”
'It's amazing to look back and think about all the opportunities we might have had to meet, but our paths never crossed,” Staci said. 'In fact, Tyler's grandparents were neighbors to (Staci's) mom and dad for over 20 years. It was 4-H that brought us together, and now almost 15 years later since we met, we are married with two sons, a third baby on the way, and living back in Washington County where hopefully our own kids will join 4-H someday, too!”
