MAHARISHI VEDIC CITY ? Maharishi Vedic City?s population according to the 2010 Census has been revised since data was first released earlier this year.
In late July, the U.S. Census Bureau notified city officials an error in the geographical assignment of a housing unit ? the campus of Vedic scholars ? has been corrected. Vedic City?s population, which had been reported as 174, now stands at 1,294. The total number of housing units reported by the census is 174.
The 1,035 people at 1675 Invincible America Drive, in the city?s northwest quadrant, was originally assigned to an unincorporated census track southeast of the city. City officials requested a revision shortly after the data was released.
The adjustment will significantly boost the road use tax funding awarded the city, as cities receive roughly $100 per capita.
