Late afternoon sun and warm temperatures with very little wind made for perfect flying in a hot air balloon Sunday. Mike Hadley of Richland hovers his craft just above a cornfield with Fairfield balloonist Terry Hayes riding with him, testing his piloting skills. The men were doing a biennial flight review, which is required of balloon pilots, testing each other on takeoffs, landings, touch-and-go and other elements of piloting a hot air balloon. The pair took off from Lamson Woods and landed about 3 miles east of Packwood just south of the highway.
