Thursday, Oct. 25, 3 to 6 p.m., Lincoln Elementary School blood drive: Lincoln Elementary School gym, 501 Corkhill Street, Mt. Pleasant. Donors who last gave blood on or before Aug. 30 are eligible to donate. To make an appointment, contact, Mrs. Carson at 319-385-7765.
Friday, Oct. 26, 2 to 5:30 p.m.: Walmart community blood drive, MVRBC donor bus in the Walmart parking lot, 1045 N. Grand Avenue. Mt. Pleasant. Donors who last gave blood on or before Aug. 31 are eligible to donate. To schedule an appointment for donation, please call the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center at (800) 747-5401.
Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. or MVRBC Donor Card is required to donate.
Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may be accepted as eligible donors.
