The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center has announced the following upcoming blood drives:
Tuesday, March 12, 1 to 6 p.m.: Winfield-Mt. Union High School National Honor Society blood drive, small gym, 208 South Olive. Donors who last gave blood on or before Jan. 15 are eligible. To make an appointment, contact Cindy Riley at 319-257-7701.

Friday, March 15, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: Henry County community blood drive, in gym of E3 Center, 1400 E. Washington Street, Mt. Pleasant. Donors who last gave blood on or before Jan. 18 are eligible. To make an appointment, contact MVRBC at 800-747-5401 ext. 1281.
Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. or MVRBC Donor Card is required to donate.
Blood donation takes about 45 minutes to one hour. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may be accepted as eligible donors.
Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is the provider of blood and blood components to 81 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin.
