Utility plant construction to begin at WCHC
Apr. 18, 2022 1:00 am
Washington County Hospital and Clinics have announced the initiation of a construction project to update their Utility Plant.
Beginning on April 18, work will begin at the hospital to upgrade and relocate the utility plant, including the construction of new space to improve the mechanical systems and operational controls of the facility.
As the heart and arteries of the hospital facility, a utility plant supplies utility needs to maintain a healthy and comfortable environment. This large-scale construction project will ensure that WCHC continues to provide a state-of-the-art facility for patients and the community. It is anticipated for this construction project to be completed in June 2023.
For the duration of this project, an increase in traffic may be noticed on Sixth Street to accommodate construction crews and delivery of materials and equipment. Construction crews will work daily, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. to minimize the impact of this project to our neighbors.
There will be little to no impact to patients and visitors as they arrive at the facility. All clinic and hospital parking lots and entrances will remain available throughout the project.
