With the first win of the season under their belts, the Warriors now turn their focus to Week 6 opponent Highland.
The Warriors (1-4) won their first game in more than a year last Friday when they topped New London 34-6. Junior Aaron Clemens gained 127 yards on 25 carries and senior Curtis Thomas had 103 rushing yards on 21 carries in the victory.
The Warriors? success will once again rest on their running game, and Garrett Saunders will be back at quarterback.
Defensively, Thomas also has been a force. He tallied 12 tackles last Friday and has 61 on the season. Brayden Starnes and Noah Whitten have each intercepted a pass in 2012.
Highland lost to Lone Tree 47-14 last week to drop to 3-2 on the season. Before the loss, the Huskies won three straight games by a combined score of 152-0.
Kickoff for Friday?s game is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Keosauqua.
