Van Buren superintendent contract Ok?d
KEOSAUQUA ? The Van Buren Community School Board of Directors recently approved the contract of superintendent Lisa Beames.
According to the two-year contract as presented at the meeting, Beames? salary will be $123,600 plus benefits, for the year that began July 1 and will end June 30.

KEOSAUQUA ? The Van Buren Community School Board of Directors recently approved the contract of superintendent Lisa Beames.
According to the two-year contract as presented at the meeting, Beames? salary will be $123,600 plus benefits, for the year that began July 1 and will end June 30.
The school board approved the contract on a 7-0 vote.
Beames reported on preparations for the 2012-13 school year. Registration is set for Aug. 10 and Aug. 13.
Technology purchases for the 2012-13 school year will focus on student machines.
?We will be implementing 25 new laptop computers per building,? said Beames. ?While not as many as we would like, it will provide greater access than we currently have. The total of this expenditure was nearly $38,000, with an annual payment at approximately $14,000.?
The board has approved the ongoing allocation of $50,000 annually to improve technology availability, access and integration throughout the district.
Also during the meeting, the board approved the trip to Orlando, Fla., being organized for the summer of 2013 by the Van Buren music department.
The board approved hiring: Bob Laughlin as secondary day custodian, full time; Jeffrey Quick as secondary night custodian, full time; Chuck Ash, secondary night custodian, part time; James Gengler, elementary night custodian, part time; Courtney Janeszek as elementary art and TAG (ELP) teacher; Janice Jester as flag coach; Ryan VanAusdall, junior high boys track coach; Grant Carter as assistant varsity boys basketball; and Audrey Ekle as National Honor Society sponsor.
