Washington County Ambulance Services were called to the area of 285th and Palm Avenue in rural Washington for a single-vehicle roll over with multiple injuries early Sunday morning.
“The (vehicle) was traveling west bound on 285th and lost control, going into the ditch and ended facing east bound,” an officer’s preliminary accident report of the incident said.
The Washington County Ambulance Service dispatched two Advanced Life Support crews directly to the scene, according to a news release.
“Extrication for some vehicle occupants was required,” the release said. “Two patients were treated and transported by the ambulance service to local hospitals in good and fair condition.”
Another patient was treated by the ambulance service before being transported in critical condition via University of Iowa AirCare to the UIHC Trauma Center. A fourth occupant refused medical assistance on the scene.
The news release said the ambulance service would provide no further comments on the cause or contributing factors of the accident, or the condition of the patients, directing further questions to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
