Vehicle strikes utility pole in Mt. Pleasant

A one-vehicle accident Sunday, Nov. 25, in Mt. Pleasant totaled a vehicle, damaged a utility pole and sent the driver by ambulance to the Henry County Health Center.

According to the Iowa State Patrol?s accident report, Scott Lee Wichhart Jr., 18, Mt. Pleasant, was eastbound on East Monroe Street in Mt. Pleasant when he lost control of his vehicle east of the intersection with North Haynes Street.

Wichhart?s 2008 Dodge Caliber began to roll prior to leaving Monroe Street. The vehicle hit a utility pole at the intersection of Haynes and Monroe streets, causing the pole to break in half before coming to rest on its passenger side.

Wichhart was transported by Henry County Ambulance to the Henry County Health Center for treatment of unknown injuries.
