Vehicles collide near Mt. Pleasant Middle School

No injuries were reported and $4,000 in collective damages were sustained by two vehicles in an Oct. 5 traffic accident in Mt. Pleasant.

According to the Mt. Pleasant Police Department?s accident report, a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, owned and operated by Kimberly Davis, of Mt. Pleasant, was attempting to leave the gravel parking lot just east of the middle school.

A 2000 Saturn, owned and operated by Lacey Woodsmall, of Mt. Pleasant, was driving north on Lincoln Street and had the right-of-way.

Both vehicles were traveling at slow speeds and the Jeep pulled into the roadway and did not see the Saturn. The Jeep struck the Saturn on the passenger side.

Damage to the Jeep was estimated at $1,000; damage to the Saturn was estimated at $3,000.
