The Vetter’s branch of Culligan Water Company marked its 75-year anniversary last week with what it called a “diamond jubilee celebration.”
“It was great, we had a great turnout,” Vetter’s Culligan CEO Sean McCarthy said. “Lots of people from the community came by to help us celebrate.”
McCarthy said the Washington location was a special place for the company.
“My grandfather started the company out of his garage there in 1946 at the time when he lived there in Washington,” he said. “It’s pretty special. It’s a rare accomplishment to last for 75 years and it’s very special to be able to keep it going and keep it in the family and be able to serve the community for that long.”
Washington Chamber of Commerce Event Coordinator Alisha Davis said the community was happy to support the company in return.
“I just think it’s great that our community is so supportive when we have these big anniversaries and events,” she said. “It’s really great to get out in the community and show your support for our businesses that have been here for a long time.”
