Virginia Mae Steffens, 87, of Winfield, died on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospital, in Iowa City.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, at 1 p.m., at the Honts Funeral Home, in Winfield, with Rev. Mark Youngquist officiating. Interment will follow at the Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m., prior to the service.

Virginia Mae Steffens, 87, of Winfield, died on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospital, in Iowa City.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, at 1 p.m., at the Honts Funeral Home, in Winfield, with Rev. Mark Youngquist officiating. Interment will follow at the Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m., prior to the service.
A memorial has been established for the Swedesburg Lutheran Church.
Steffens was born on Feb. 25, 1929, at Oxford junction, the daughter of August and Wilma (Waite) Hansen. On Feb. 21, 1948, she married Delbert Steffens at Oxford Junction. She graduated from Oxford Junction High School and attended University of Dubuque.
She retired from Henry County Health Center, in Mt. Pleasant, working in the financial department for 28 years.
She was a member of the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church and WELCA.
She enjoyed attending her grandchildren?s sporting and musical events.
Steffens is survived by her two daughters, Cindy (Dave) Lane, of Ankeny; and Sherry (Mike) Honts, of Winfield; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Ronnie Hansen, of Clarence; and one sister, Dee Wollenzien, of Thief River Falls, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant grandson; one brother, Gary Hansen; and one sister, Joyce Buresh.
