Visit Fairfield unveils ‘Loved by Locals’ digital passport

FAIRFIELD — Visit Fairfield Iowa has announced a new program to encourage residents and visitors to shop in Fairfield.

The program is a digital passport that includes 24 shops offering deals on food, clothing and more. It is known as the “Loved by Locals” passport, and is free to use.

Visit Fairfield Iowa Executive Director Terry Baker said the passport works like a coupon book, where shops offer exclusive deals only on the passport, such as two cider flights for the price of one at Fishback & Stephenson Cider House, discounts at Adela’s, Somm Wines or Thymely solutions, and free toppings at Big Acai Bowls.

In addition, passport holders, simply by checking in at the various locations, will be rewarded with points that can be redeemed for prizes.

“Current offerings on the pass include special Fairfield merchandise such as an exclusive holiday ornament, a 14-ounce Fairfield mug, and a Fairfield hat,” Baker said. “These items are only available through this pass.”

"We are excited to launch the new 'Loved by Locals' passport," Baker continued. "Supporting the community as well as curating a great experience for visitors helps to increase tourism, which brings additional spending into the community.”

Baker said that the tourism office is always looking for ways to improve the visitor experience, and the new passport program is one way to do that.

"We want everyone who comes to Fairfield to have a great time and to see all that our community is a welcoming and vibrant place to visit and live," she said. "The 'Loved by Locals' passport will help us accomplish that goal."
