Volunteers sought for Santa Parade

Fairfield Rotary needs more volunteers for the Santa Parade on Christmas Eve.

Rotary president Joshua Laraby said carolers, elves and three bell-ringers are needed on the floats that will accompany Santa's sleigh that night. Those interested in participating are asked to notify Laraby ahead of time at 472-3436.

Volunteers should arrive at the Iowa National Guard Armory, 1501 W. Stove Ave., at 4:30 p.m. The parade floats will depart at 5 p.m. (The Ledger previously received and published information indicating it would leave at 4:45 p.m.).

The parade is expected to last about 45 minutes before it makes its final stop in Central Park. Laraby encourages volunteers to dress warmly. The forecast shows a high of 44 and a low of 30 on Monday, with no precipitation.
