WINFIELD ? Wednesday night?s school board meeting at Winfield-Mt. Union was pretty straightforward, Superintendent Jeff Maeder said.
The board approved a host of board policies. Most of the updates, Maeder said was just to get the policies in form with the Iowa Association of School Boards.
In addition to board policies, an agreement with the University of Iowa to allow student teachers at W-MU was approved as well as a sharing agreement with Morning Sun. The 28E agreement with Morning Sun, the superintendent said, was just for whole-grade sharing.
Lastly, during his report, Maeder spoke to the board regarding the failed bond referendum. Maeder thanked the board for their tireless work before discussing their next steps. Maeder said the board would have a work session in the next couple of weeks to discuss the results and the best approach for the future.
The next regular meeting of the W-MU School Board will be held on Wednesday, March 8, at 6 p.m., in the school?s media center.
