Four members of the WACO FFA chapter competed at the FFA Livestock Judging Contest at the Kirkwood Community College Tippie Beef Center on Oct. 12.
As a team, the group of four finished first overall out of 108 other teams.
Individually, Maggie Rinner was awarded a fifth-place finish out of 390 contestants.
Hailey Harbison placed sixth high individual in the beef division. The team finished fifth in the division.
The students were required to judge an abundance of livestock, including pigs, cows, sheep and goats.
Each animal was judged by the students based on visual appearance alone.
Each of the students wish to thank their sponsors for this opportunity.
This success comes following a return of the WACO FFA Chapter after 30 years.
The program currently has 62 active members.
