WACO to host blood drive

The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center will be holding a blood drive on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the WACO High School gymnasium, 706 North Pearl Street. Donors who last gave blood on or before Sept. 27 are eligible. To donate, call Diana Herzinger at 319-256-6200.

Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that only takes about an hour. Donors must be at least 16 years old, in good health and weigh at least 110 pounds. A blood donor card or other photo ID is required to donate; 16-year-old donors must present a signed parental consent form, available from the Blood Center or for download from www.bloodcenter.org.

Controlled high blood pressure and diabetics are acceptable.
