Walmart Foundation donates $40,000 in grants to communities
The Walmart Foundation announced $40,000 in grant dollars that have been provided to Walmart?s local communities.
Receiving organizations have been provided to Walmart based on the recomendation of its local logistics associates.

The Walmart Foundation announced $40,000 in grant dollars that have been provided to Walmart?s local communities.
Receiving organizations have been provided to Walmart based on the recomendation of its local logistics associates.
Grants will provide opportunities to local school districts, veterans, historical societies, fire departments, Boy Scouts, Toys for Tots and local law enforcement agencies.
?Walmart is committed to helping address unmet needs in the communities where we serve,? said Bob Sarver, Walmart Distribution general manager.
?Walmart and the Walmart Foundation are proud to support the charitable causes that are important to customers and associates in their own neighborhoods,? Sarver added.
The Walmart Foundation funds initiatives focused on education, workforce development, economic opportunity, environmental sustainability and health and wellness.
From Jan. 1, 2009, through Jan. 31, 2010, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation gave more than $512 million in cash and in-kind gifts globally, $467 million of which was donated in the United States.
