DONNELLSON ? The WACO basketball team traveled to Donnellson to take on Central Lee for their first game of the season on Tuesday night.
Central Lee used an impressive second half to take down the Warriors, 82-45, despite a huge game from WACO?s Kiana Miller.
The Warriors stuck with the Hawks in the first half. They lost the first quarter, 16-13, and the second quarter, 13-8, to trail 29-21 at halftime.
Central Lee exploded in the second half, however, outscoring the Warriors, 53-24, in the second half to secure the 37-point victory.
Miller had a huge game in the loss, going 8-21 from the field and 9-17 from the line for 27 points to lead all scorers. She also hit two three-pointers on the night.
Kasey Sutton had seven points in the loss, hitting two three-pointers of her own. Nadiyah Brown and Halle Kissell scored four points apiece. Kristen Conelly scored two points and Clara Schmitz had one.
The Warriors will host Danville in their next game of the season. That matchup will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 6 p.m.
