WASHINGTON — Organizers say they’re excited to raise some money for community improvement with the Washington Betterment Foundation’s annual pub crawl this Saturday.
The event features six bars around town, with a rotating fleet of buses taking participants from one stop to the next between 5:30 and 10:30 p.m.
While the raised funds aren’t earmarked for anything in particular, Betterment Foundation Event Committee Member Steve Roth said a sizable chunk of the cash would likely go to a planned athletic facility at Washington High School.
“It’ll be a great addition, it’s for every sport, it’s going to be really nice,” Roth said.
Otherwise, the foundation plans to continue its support for a litany of beautification efforts in Washington.
“Every dollar that comes in goes toward downtown, whatever project comes to us,” said Denise Erpelding, another organizer for the event. “It’s so much fun to see these projects being funded locally, and every time that we sell these tickets and fund our project, we get to help on theirs.”
Tickets to ride the buses — and get a free drink at each bar involved — are available for $30 at all of the participating locations Thursday and Friday. The list includes Wagon Wheel, 2Bros, JP’s 207, Unc & Neph’s, the Washington County Club, and Lebowski’s. Tickets can also be bought the night-of at Lebowski’s and Unc & Neph’s.
Raffle tickets for the event will be drawn Monday, this year, instead of at Lebowski’s at the end of the night, according to Roth and Erpelding.
