WASHINGTON — The Washington Police Department said it had arrested a man suspected of several burglaries in town between June 4 and 9, issuing a news release about the development Wednesday afternoon.
Colton Lane Pategas, age 25, of Davenport has been charged with five counts of Burglary Third Degree for burglaries that occurred at La Morenita Tienda y Taqueria, Steele Family Aquatic Center, Korner Kremery, Morelia Mexican Food & Treats, and Pizza Hut, plus two counts of Attempted Burglary at Carmel’s Closet and The Emporium, according to the news release.
Washington Police Chief Jim Lester said tips from the community greatly helped the investigation leading up to Pategas’s arrest.
“After posting images of our suspect on our social media page, we almost immediately began receiving tips identifying Pategas as our suspect,” Lester said. “Our investigation also discovered that Pategas had sold a television stolen from one of the burglaries at a Davenport pawnshop.”
Pategas was arrested by the Washington Police Department on June 25 and is being held in the Washington County Jail on a $30,000 cash only bond, according to the news release.
