Washington celebrates homecoming next week

WASHINGTON — Students and staff will celebrate homecoming at Washington High School next week, where a long lineup of activities and themes are scheduled at the building.
Monday, Sept. 25’s theme is PJ Day.
Tuesday, Sept. 26’s theme Country vs. Country Club. At 4:30 p.m., a home cross-country meet starts at Washington Golf & Country Club, a home middle school football game against Fairfield starts, and a home 8th grade volleyball game vs. Fort Madison start. At 5:45 p.m., 9th/JV/V Varsity Volleyball begins at Keokuk.
Wednesday, Sept. 27’s theme is dress-up day. The Homecoming Court and cheerleaders will visit retirement homes and WCDC, and the Powder Puff tournament beings at 7 p.m. at Case Field.
Thursday, Sept. 28’s theme is Biker vs. Surfer. The Spirit Pep Rally begins at 7 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 29’s theme is Demon Spirit Day. Senior football, volleyball, cross-country, all cheerleaders and all marching band members will visit Stewart, Lincoln, and St. James in the morning. The homecoming parade will begin at 2 p.m. A PEP assembly at Central Park starts at 3, and the varsity football game vs. Mt. Pleasant starts at 7 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 30, the homecoming dance is 8-10 p.m.
