An array of festivities marked last week’s homecoming for Washington High School, culminating in the school’s last home football game of the season.
On Thursday, Quinn Wubbena and Greta Rothe were crowned the school’s homecoming king and queen, respectively.
“My favorite part of this week is seeing the community come together,” Rothe said. “It’s really fun and it’s really cool and it’s really good to experience it. It’s just a good energy.”
That sense of community stuck even through competitions during the week. A series of assemblies over the week pitted students against one another in friendly competitions between class years, not to mention the contest for homecoming court.
“The whole court’s a lot of fun to be around, I think everybody’s friends,” Wubbena said.
Friday boasted the highest-profile events, including an early-out at the school, a parade, and a pep rally in the Washington town square.
“It has been just great to see the support,” said Head Football Coach Nick Ehret“ It’s great to be part of a community that supports our school and our team so much.”
