WASHINGTON - Unwrap savings at Washington's Choctoberfest this week.
Thursday through Friday, people can get sample candies at stores in downtown Washington for the chance to unwrap discounts and possibly $100 in Chamber Bucks.
There will be 11 businesses downtown participating.
Event Coordinator Alisha Davis said this event is an alternative to the chocolate walk they did last year. Because of the high turnout last year, she said they wanted to do something a little different over a span of three days for safety.
On their own spin of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory golden ticket, the Chamber has placed three golden stickers on candy that reveal a Chamber Bucks prize of $25, $50 and $100.
Because of COVID-19 concerns, there will not be homemade candies, but Davis said there is a variety of candies throughout the businesses.
Participants must be high school age or older.
