WASHINGTON — Two businesses plan to offer free food to the first 1,000 drive-through takers next week. Bazooka Farmstar and JWV Pork will set up near the rocket slide in Sunset Park at 5 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 10.
“We’re one of the biggest employers in town, so we really want to get as involved as possible and we thought this would be a good way to do it,” Bazooka Farmstar Marketing Manager Sydney Greiner said. “We really love the community we live in and we want to give back as much as possible.”
JWV Pork owner Heidi Vittetoe said she hoped the giveaway would make an impact.
“With the tight budgets people have right now and the higher cost of fuel and stuff like that, we just thought that would be something good we could do,” she said. “It just seemed like this was something that would be a good idea.”
