WASHINGTON — The Washington Golf and Country Club will celebrate a century of business with a golf tournament, happy hour and live music this weekend.
Organizers said the club would host an 18-hole, four-person scramble on Saturday, Sept. 14, with check-in starting at 9 a.m. and games starting at 10 a.m., with registration at $50 per player.
A flyer for the event shared by the Washington Chamber of Commerce also advertised lunch, “happy hour and Hawkeye football” after the tournament, and a performance by On The Rocks from 7-10 p.m. The chamber will hold a ribbon cutting at the country club at 9:45 a.m., according to its weekly newsletter.
“This tournament is not just about golf, it's about celebrating a century of memories, achievements, and community spirit,” read the event’s newsletter posting. “Whether you're an avid golfer or a casual participant, there's something for everyone.”
Those interested can register for the tournament by stopping in the clubhouse or calling 319-653-2080.
