Washington County 4-H at state livestock judging contest
AMES — A total of 13 Washington County 4-H’ers are returning home after a successful trip to the State Livestock judging contest, according to social media posts from the group.
Some of the members’ awards from the day include:
- Fourth overall Senior Team (out of 26) — Charlotte Sieren, Brynn Younge, Peighton Ford and Garrett Greiner.
- Three Senior Team members placed in Top 15 overall — Charlotte Sieren (8th), Peighton Ford (12th) and Garrett Greiner (15th)
- The Senior Team ended up second in Sheep/Goats and second in Swine
- Ella Greiner was ninth overall Individual in the Junior Division.
"(I’m) Incredibly proud of this great group of young people on a solid day at the Iowa 4-H State Livestock Judging Contest,“ livestock judging coach Dustin Ford said, according to a Washington County 4-H Facebook post. ”(The) team has grown tremendously over the past year in both consistency and confidence due to their dedication and time invested in and outside of practice."
