Washington County Conservation hosting movie night on Friday

WASHINGTON - Washington County Conservation will host a movie night in Marr Park Friday night at 8:30 p.m.

Naturalist Megan Jorgensen said this is the second in a series of showings at the park as the department works to bring more people to the park.

'The Sandlot,” will be featured by the Mary Marry Lodge.

Those planning to participate are encouraged to bring their own chairs, blankets, snacks and drinks.

'We're practicing social distancing,” she said, noting masks will not be required.

Jorgensen said staff are trying to promote the outdoors, not just education, by encouraging people to come outside and participate.

'The goal is to get the public aware of what we have to offer recreationally and hopefully encourage them to use it,” she said.
