Washington County Historical Society holds annual meeting

The Washington County Historical Society held its annual meeting at 6 p.m., April 29, at the Conservation Center at Marr Park in Ainsworth. Forty-three people attended. Mistress of ceremonies was Deborah Wagner, and presiding officer was President Ferd Marie.

The annual meeting began with a dinner catered by the Sweeting Family. President Marie presided over the business meeting. Mike Kramme had resigned from the board and was commended for his many years of service to the society. Sue Ballou was elected as a new member to the board. Ferd Marie and Mike Zahs were re-elected to three-year terms. The summer exhibit will be on photography – cameras, local photographers and related items.

Deborah Wagner introduced Mike Zahs, who gave the program on 'The Brintons,” including new material never before presented. There was a large display of items from the Brintons' activities and from the recent documentary. Lantern slides were shown from the original projector, and the program ended with films that the Brintons had shown.
