WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Justice said Trevor Miller was sentenced Wednesday to 20 years in federal prison, for producing a sex tape with a minor. The sentence will also include 10 years of supervised release after his jail time ends, and requires Miller to register as a sex offender.
Police and court documents said Miller, 23, made a video of himself having sex with a young girl, before sharing it with a handful of other juveniles.
“(Miller) produced a video of himself with a minor female engaged in sexual activity,” said a news release from the Department of Justice. “That video was sent by Miller via Snapchat to other minors. Investigators recovered a copy of the video and confronted Miller who admitted he produced and distributed the video. Investigators also discovered that Miller had produced a similar video with another minor female.”
The case was investigated by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and FBI, according to a Department of Justice news release. Officials said it was part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative aiming to combat sexual exploitation of minors, which also played a role in convictions for similar cases in Salem and Washington in 2022, and in Riverside earlier this year.
