WASHINGTON — Washington County officials plan to hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house Friday afternoon to celebrate the public health department’s relocation to a new building on Orchard Hill.
The ribbon cutting is scheduled at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, according to an invitation shared with The Southeast Iowa Union. The open house will last until 4 p.m.
“This event is an opportunity to tour our new facility, meet our team, and learn more about the services we provide to the community,” said Public Health Director Jenifer Roberts in an email. “We welcome local leaders, partners, and community members to join us as we celebrate this exciting new chapter.”
The new public health building is located at 2175 Lexington Blvd., Building 2, in Washington. The local agency has, for years, rented office space in the Federation Bank Building on the northeast corner of Washington’s square, but moved to the newly renovated building at Orchard Hill in mid-July, according to its Facebook page.
