Washington Fair auction raises $81,555 online

WASHINGTON - The Washington County Fair auction went a little different this year compared to previous years due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The one-day sale was converted to an online multiday auction. Students uploaded photos and information such as weight and age, to KDK Sales and Equipment's website.
The auction opened for bids on Thursday, July 23, and ended Friday, July 24.
The highest bid of $2,450 went to Bailey Sieren for her Simmental steer by Blake Kuesel of Kuesel Farms. The second highest bid of $2,200 went to Ellie Bell for her Angus steer by JJ Nichting and Pat McCrabb.
The two highest bids for sheep of $500 went to Noah Kleese for his sheep to Matt Wulf and Dan Franz of Riverside Casino & Golf Resort.
For rabbits, Ellie Bell and Sophie Bell tied for rabbits at $250 by Marc Peck of Washington Ag Supply.
The highest bid of $425 on goats went to Zane Fisher by Federation Bank.
Overall, the cattle, sheep, goats and rabbits raised $81,555.
