WASHINGTON — After a unanimous city council vote approving the event request, the Washington Farmers Market is ready to return this season on Thursdays from May 19 to Oct. 13 at the usual 5-7:30 p.m. time.
Main Street Washington Executive Director Sarah Grunewaldt said the group looked forward to starting.
“This is the 34th year of the farmers market, we’re excited to be back,” she said. “Last year we saw our largest number of vendors as well as customers that we’ve ever had, and we’re hoping to build on that momentum and have another great season.”
The event will take up slightly more parking on the north side of the square, according to Grunewaldt, as organizers plan to host an additional food truck from mid-June to mid-August.
“What we have found is that we have enough people, and the lines are very very long for all of our food vendors in addition to our food trucks in addition to our restaurants in downtown,” she said.
