Washington hires Sally Hart as new city clerk

WASHINGTON - The Washington City Council has approved a new City Clerk and Development Services Director.

KCII News Director Sally Hart was offered the job out of five finalists.

Council member Danielle Pettit-Majewski said she was pleased and made the motion to approve. The resolution was approved unanimously by the council.

Hart will begin on Dec. 1.

The current city clerk, Illa Earnest, has been in the position for 36 years and is retiring this year.
