WASHINGTON — The Washington Fire Department said its fundraiser pancake breakfast on Wednesday went well, serving 200 more area residents than last year’s event.
“Our members put in a lot of work all week and if definitely pays off,” Washington Fire Chief Brendan DeLong said. “We served 2,400 people this year as compared to 2,200 last year.”
DeLong said he was thankful for the community’s support, and the work put in by Andy Miller and Joe Redlinger, who organized the event.
“The proceeds will go toward necessary equipment purchases which will allow us to keep the community safe,” he said. “Thank you, and we look forward to next year.”
