Washington man arrested on sex abuse charges

The Washington Police Department has arrested Kevin Orris, of Washington on felony sexual abuse charges related to incidents reported to have begun in 2016.

On Wednesday, Orris, 64, was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on charges of sexual abuse third degree (a Class C felony) and incest (a Class D felony.)

He is being held on a $50,000 cash-only bond.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.

Orris is employed as a bus driver by the Washington Community School District, and these charges are not related to his employment.

The Washington Community School District has placed Orris on administrative leave and has been cooperating with law enforcement regarding the investigation. The school’s focus is the safety of their students, and they will continue to cooperate with law enforcement.

The case is being investigated by the Washington Police Department with assistance from the Washington County Sexual Assault Response Team.
