BRIGHTON - A Washington man was charged with driving while barred, eluding, interfering with official acts and reckless driving after leading police on a chase using a stolen motorcycle.
According to the Washington County Communications Media Report, at approximately 6:42 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, a motorcyclist was stopped off Highway 78 at the entrance to Lake Darling. The driver took off and a chase ensued, ending in an accident in a bean field north of Highway 78.
The driver, Daymun Schadt, 39, of Washington was arrested and charged and the motorcycle he was driving had previously been entered as stolen from Missouri. Schadt also had two Washington County warrants for failure to appear for initial appearance of driving while his license was denied, suspended, canceled or revoked. Bond was set at $600 cash only.
As with any criminal case a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilt.
