Washington Middle School announces back to school night

Washington Middle School administrators invite all incoming sixth-graders and new students to the building with their parents to the Middle School Orientation/Computer Rollout Aug. 18.
Students will pick up their schedule, put supplies in their lockers, find classrooms and meet the teachers.
“We will be breaking the night up into shifts, with a computer rollout presentation where all sixth grade and new students will be present,” a news release from the Washington School District said.
The schedule is as follows:
- 6 to 6:30 p.m.- Last name A-M orientation
- 6:30 to 7 p.m. — ALL 6th grade/ new students attend the computer rollout
- 7-7:30 p.m. — Last name N-Z orientation
Seventh- and eighth-grade students and parents are welcome earlier in the day, from 5 to 6 p.m. to pick up their schedules, organize lockers and find any new classrooms.
“Please be respectful of the designated time for sixth-graders,” the news release said. “The transition to middle school can be a challenging time.”
Students and parents are asked to enter the building through the gym doors (Door 3), where they will find schedules and instructions.
