Washington Middle School places at SEIBA

The Washington Middle School Jazz Band placed third at the Southeast Iowa Bandmasters Association (SEIBA) Jazz Festival at Clear Creek-Amana High School on Saturday, March 4, 2023.
Their selections included "Route 66" arranged by Michael Sweeney, "It Had to Be You" arranged by Mike Lewis and "St. Thomas" arranged by Michael Sweeney.
Seven soloist awards went to Ethan Hotchkiss on Alto Sax, Katy Galyon on Tenor Sax, Jaedyn Moore on Trumpet, Jaxson Lilly on Trumpet, Johannah Halvorson on Trombone, Robert Altheide on Bass and KJ Piere on Drums.
The Washington Middle School Jazz Band is directed by Craig McClenahan and the band members are: Alto Sax: Ethan Hotchkiss and Shelby McKenna; Tenor Sax: Kevin Sales-Gomez and Katy Galyon; Clarinet: Melody Mei; Bari Sax: Braydon Clough; Trumpet: Jaedyn Moore, Gabby Andrew, Anthony Raymundo, Jaxson Lilly, Eva Torres; Trombone: Johannah Halvorson, Ethan Peebler, Josiah Tiffany, and Landen Lee Hawkins; Bass: Robert Altheide; Drums: KJ Piere, Cassy Salgado; Piano: Fletcher Brower; and Vibes/Aux Perc: Nathan Schrock.
