WASHINGTON — Police arrested two of three suspects in a case at Mi Pueblo Real Mexican Restaurant in early April.
Columbus Junction residents Shawna Forney and Nelson Mendoza, as well as a third individual who has not yet arrested by police, allegedly stayed after closing hours and left without paying for their meals before Mendoza reentered the restaurant, pushed the employee, and took a cellphone, according to a police news release.
“A restaurant employee used a cellphone to record the incident on Facebook Live,” the news release said. “The three subjects were identified based on an extensive investigation and the use of the employee’s recording of the incident.”
The news release said Mendoza was charged with second-degree burglary, and all three individuals were charged with fifth-degree criminal mischief, all with court dates pending.
