WASHINGTON — The Washington Police Department is looking for a suspect after receiving “several reports of break-ins” at local businesses in the last week.
Call For Service Log released by the county every morning shows at least seven calls from June 4-9 mentioning burglaries or break-ins around Washington, though not all of them were successful. On pixilated security camera footage released by police, the person appears to be dressed in all black with most of their face covered.
“The lone suspect is taking mostly cash and causing considerable damage to property,” the Washington Police Department said in a Facebook post asking for help identifying someone caught on security camera footage. “We know the screenshots are not the best quality, but someone has surely seen a person dressed in this manner in the last several days.”
The break-ins mentioned in CFS logs have happened in different spots across town, but several were clustered around businesses near Pizza Hut on Madison Street and Morelia Mexican Restaurant and Treats on North Iowa Avenue.
Police have asked anyone with information about the break-ins, or pictures or videos of the suspected burglar walking late at night, to contact the municipal department at 319-653-2107.
