Washington Police find 13-year-old girl who had been missing for three days

WASHINGTON — The Washington Police Department announced Thursday afternoon, Feb. 8, that it had located 13-year-old Alexandra Lynn after she was reported missing from her home on Monday, Feb. 5.
Washington Police Chief Jim Lester reported that Lynn had been found safe in South Sioux City, Nebraska.
“This is an ongoing investigation and we are working with Nebraska authorities,” Lester stated in an email.
The police had earlier sought the public’s assistance in locating Lynn. Shortly before noon on Feb. 8 and before Lynn was found, the Washington Police Department said it had identified a person of interest who may be with Lynn.
“Law enforcement is attempting to locate a gold 2000 Chevy Malibu with Iowa License MCS106. This vehicle is believed to be driven by Fernando Marcelino, age 20,” the department said in a news release. “At 8:30 a.m. on 2-8-2024 this vehicle was observed on video near South Sioux City, Nebraska.”
