BRIGHTON - The Washington Community School District reported that one of its buses had been sideswiped in a minor traffic accident Monday afternoon.
Washington County Dispatch reported it received a call at 4:42 p.m., Monday, Sept. 30, indicating a minivan had sideswiped a school bus on Highway 78 in Brighton. School administration indicated it is protocol to perform medical checks on all the students on the bus. Minor injuries were reported, but no one required medical transport.
The driver of the minivan, Heath Michael Krabill, 41, of Mt. Pleasant, received a citation for failure to maintain control of his vehicle resulting in injuries.
Washington School Superintendent Willie Stone issued the following announcement Monday night after learning of the incident: 'Good evening. We had an incident with bus 3-19 today on the way back to Brighton. A vehicle came across the line and sideswiped the bus. Everyone involved in the accident is OK. All parents of students involved in the accident have been contacted. Again, most importantly, everyone is OK.”
