WASHINGTON — The community’s annual SNOW day returns this weekend, complete with a healthy mix of longtime traditions like the Jingle Bell Run, and newer ones, like horse-drawn carriage rides.
Main Street Washington Director Samantha Meyer said she was excited for the festivities.
“We’re just really excited to invite everybody to downtown Washington to do some shopping, celebrate small business Saturday, visit Santa and start a tradition with your family,” she said.

Small Business Saturday: all day
Breakfast with Santa: 8-10 a.m. at UP Church
Jingle Bell Run: registration opens at 8 a.m., 5k starts at 9 a.m.
The Reason for the Season: Holiday variety show starts at 1 p.m. at the Washington Area Performing Arts Center.
Live Radio Play: starts at 5 p.m. at the library
Square Lighting Ceremony: starts at 6 p.m.
Holiday Lighted Parade: starts at roughly 6:30 p.m. Santa’s House at the library opens, and downtown horse-drawn carriage rides begin, shortly afterward.
