Washington Supervisors approve bevy of annual appointments

WASHINGTON - The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved a number of required annual appointments to boards and commissions when it met in regular session at the Washington County Courthouse Tuesday, January 7. The appointments included:
' Neill Robison to a three-year term on the Crawford Township Benefitted Fire District;
' Mardi Knerr to a five-year term on the Washington City Board of Adjustment;
' Jeff Goodwin to a five-year term on the Washington County Board of Adjustment;
' Doug Yotty to a six-year term on the Assessor's Examining Board;
' James Yoder and Raquel Roberts to three-year terms on the Historic Preservation Commission;
' Rhonda Shelman to a five-year term on the Washington County Planning and Zoning Commission;
' Sylvan Schlabach to a three-year term on the Washington County Land Use and Planning Commission;
' Brent Hinson and Jaron Rosien (Alternate) to a three-year term on the East Central Iowa Council of Governments (ECICOG) Board of Directors;
' Jacob Thorius and Jeremy McLaughlin (Alternate) to a three-year term on the ECIGOG Region 10 Technical Advisory Committee;
' Cris Gaughan to a two-year term on the ECICOG Region 10 Passenger Transportation Advisory Committee;
' Bent Hinson and Jacob Thorius (Alternate) to a two-year term on the ECICOG Region 10 Transportation Policy Committee and
' Terry Engelken to a one-year term on the ECICOG Revolving Loan Fund Committee.
The following were appointed to one-year terms on the Eminent Domain Commission:
' Real estate sales persons or brokers included: Peter Bell; Patty Elliott; Jeff Hazelett; Molly Reeves; Jenny Morgan; Connie Larsen and Kim Linnenkamp.
' Owner-operators of agricultural property included: David Birney; Jim Dunn; Keith Hora; Keith Murphy; Dale Roberts; Eugene Steele and a member to be named later.
' City or town property owners included: James Miller; Ron Ornduff; Ralph Schnoebelen; Robert Swartzendruber; Dave Mueller; Pat Smith and a member to be named later.
' Bankers, auctioneers, property managers, money loaners and property appraisers included: Larry A. Lowe; Jim Mostek; Melissa Myers; Greg Giardino and three more members to be named later.
Other Business
In other business, the supervisors:
' Heard a request for funding of $2,225 from the Workplace Learning Connection;
' Heard General Assistance and Veterans Affairs quarterly reports;
' Acknowledged the resignation of reserve deputies Travis Hartley and Shannon McCain from the Sheriff's Office and
' Discussed the process to review the 17 applications that have been received for the position of Ambulance Services Director.
